yoku moku cigare

My friend from Tokyo got us some cigares from yoku moku.



Cigares are cookies rolled up to the shape of a cigar. And yoku moku is a famous brand that you can find in almost all department stores in Japan.

I had a lecture on this cookie last year. Well, people from Hong Kong are all familiar with egg rolls from Macau. They are pretty similar except this French version has a more solid and firm texture (more butter).

Hubbie loves it! I know how to make it but it takes a lot of trouble rolling them one by one while it's still hot so I'm not sure if I'd make them at home.

親友が東京から来ました。（そう、また友達が来たよ！）
なんか最近友達がよく来てくれる。嬉しいね。（＾＾）ｂ

友達がyoku mokuのcigareを持ってきてくれた。実は、それに、みかんもたくさん持ってきてくれたの。（重いのにわざわざ持ってきてくれるなんて本当に申し訳ない。）

シガールっていうのはシガーの形に巻いた薄いバタークッキーですね。マカオの「蛋巻」と似たようなものだけど、ちょっとバターの香りがしっかりあって、食感がふわふわというよりも、しっかりしたものです。

去年学校で先生が作っていたのを見ていて、結構一枚一枚巻いていくのに、タイミングが大変で、作業が遅かったらクッキーが硬くなって割れてしまうというので、熱々のとき指先で巻くもんだ。

挑戦することはないかもな。。。買ったほうが楽かも。
と言う怠け者の私でした。。。へっへっへ
