買っちゃった！買い物カート / We bought a SUPER DELUX shopping cart!
日本でもたま〜に見かけるショッピングカートですが、ここでは結構使われていますよ。年寄りだけじゃなくて、若者もこれで買い物しています。
原因はここの食べ物、とにかくパッケージが大きいです。ジュース、ミルク、お肉、いろいろ買っていくと車がないときはこのカートが大活躍！![433800779403_0_ALB[1].jpg](http://blog-imgs-24.fc2.com/u/k/i/ukishima2060/433800779403_0_ALB[1].jpg)
しかし、一つ失敗したのは、これはちょっと大きすぎちゃった。
大きいスーパーに置いてあって、小さく見えたが、実際手に持ていると、LLサイズだわ。一人で電車乗るときもちょっと邪魔になるかも。
でも、週に1回の買い物にはいいかも？！
So you think these shopping carts look really out of fashion and only older people use them? Not the case here in Boston. Since not everybody has a car here a lot of younger people do go shopping with carts like this!
We got this from the supermarket we went to and didn't realize it was so big. (It looked small in the shop) But then I guess it would be a good size for shopping every 1 or 2 weeks.
無事に着きました！！ / Arrived in Boston
６月２日、無事にボストンに着きました！
長い間バタバタしていて、体力も精神的にも限界になってきたところについてよかった！
今回はマイレージのことも考えてエアーカナダで来ました。関空からボストンまでは遠いので、途中バンクーバーで一泊して、翌日の朝７時の便でトロントへ行って、そこからまた乗り続きでボストンに来たわけです。
そのお陰でバンクーバーで一年ぶりに家族と食事をしたり、のんびりしてすごせて嬉しかった。両親も喜んでくれたみたい。お兄さんからパソコンまでもらってしまって本当に申し訳ないけど。なんというか、末子でよかったって感じ？やっぱり家族っていいね！（＾＾）ｂ 皆に会えてなんとなくほっとした！
今まで知らなかったけど、空港でカートを使うのにお金かかるようになったこと・・・
日本、バンクーバー、そして香港ではどちらも無料で使えるが、トロントの空港では一台２カナダドル、そしてボストンでは一台３米ドル！！ちゃんと返したら25�面瓩辰討�るけど、やっぱり高い！！しかも荷物が多かったため、2台も使わないといけなかったため、痛かったよ！
ボストンはニューヨークから車で4時間ぐらいの距離で、まぁ要するに東海岸にある町です。着いた日は25度前後で結構暖かかったです。でも、夜はやっぱり冷え込むのね。私は厚着も持ってきて良かったが、周りの人を見ると、なんとタンクトップお薄着でうろうろしていた。やっぱり体温が違うかな？
ここでの食べ歩きレポートはまた後日から始めます。まずは住むところを探すことです。とにかく、2週間ぐらい以内に決めたいです。その後は家でゆっくりとこちらのいろいろをアップしますね。
昨日は日曜だったので、ゆっくり休めた。時差ぼけもひどくて（日本と正反対となってるの）、忙しくしないとかなり眠くなってしまった。でも、少し中華街やダウンタウンにも行ってきました。日本よりもいろんなものが揃っていて良かったです。早速「中国超級市場」でいろいろ買ってきた。今日はそこでお昼でも食べてこようかなと考えている。「焼味」もちゃんとあるので、是非行こうと思っているの！（＾＾）ｂ
今日は雨。今は朝七時。後で主人の学校に行ってから午後不動産のAgentと約束がしていて家探しを本格的に始まります！
ということで、これから2年間弱は北米にいます。引き続きよろしくお願い致します！
Finally arrived in Boston 2 days ago.
This time we flew in via Vancouver and Toronto. Thanks to that we were able to spend some time with my family. I haven't seen my family for almost a year. My parents were so happy and it was great to see them. I even got a laptop computer from my brother so I don't have to be stucked with my husband's antique pc anymore!!! hahahahahaa It is always good to be the youngest in the family isn't it! heehee
I realized this time that carts at the airports are not always complimentary. We had to pay 2 bucks for each cart in Toronto and 3 bucks for one in the Logan Airport in Boston. Though you get a 25 cents reward for returning it to the line, it is still very expensive!
Weather here is a bit cold. It was quite pleasant when we got here on Saturday. Then it started raining yesterday and the temperature dropped a bit. East coast afterall.
Since it was Sunday yesterday we got to wander around town a bit. In order to kill jet lag I had to keep myself busy. But I still napped for about 2 hours in between. Went to Chinatown and downtown. It was really quiet. Dunno whether it's because of the baseball game yesterday but the downtown area was literally DEAD!
But I am glad that the Chinatown is pretty big here. And I could find pretty much whatever I need. Even better than Japan! heehee, now I can at least have BBQ duck whenever I want! (^^)
Monday today. Raining out. A bit chilly. We'll go visit hubby's school in a bit, then maybe have lunch in Chinatown if we have enough time. In the afternoon, we'll meet up with the real estate agent and start looking at some apartments.
Time to get busy! Stay tuned!
韓国土産 / Goodies from Korea
製菓学校の時の友人が韓国から来ています。
一年ぶりに会えて嬉しかったです。
そして、共通の友人もちょうどこの前にソールに遊びに行ってきたので、二人から合わせてすごいお土産を頂きました〜！
ストラップに雑穀茶に海苔に高麗人参のお茶パックと栄養ドリンク！！
なんか、二人とも私が貧血気味ということをよくないことが分かってるみたいです。はっはっは
まだまだ全部試していませんが、この前ちょっと疲れ気味だったので気になったD-28高麗人参栄養ドリンクを飲んでみました。
オロナミンCよりは甘くないが、苦くはない。まぁまぁ飲みやすくて美味しかったです。飲んでから暫く元気出せましたよ。
A friend from Korea is visiting at the moment. Just so happened another mutual friend of ours visited him in Soeul before that, they brought me a huge bag of goodies from Korea.
One interesting thing is they both got me some Korean Ginseng stuffs. Tea packs and some power boosting drinks. Guess they both know my body structure well enough. hahahahahaha
Anyway, I was a bit tired the other day and tried this Ginseng D-28 drink before leaving for Tokyo. It was not bad. Not as sweet as OronamiC (a popular power drink in Japan), which is good, and it's not bitter like I expected. Quite pleasant actually.

ミシュランガイド東京版 / Michelin Guide Book Tokyo
歴史のあるミシュランガイドがついアジアに進出すると決断しましたね。
フランスではミシュランガイドに批判されて☆３つから２つに降格したレストランシェフが自殺するまで、真剣に受け止めるガイドブックだ。
でも、２００５年にニューヨーク版が出ましたが、当地のガイドブックと大幅の差で批判され、納得いかないレストランもたくさんあるようです。
今回は２００７年１１月に東京版までできるということで、またまた大騒ぎになるではないかと考えられますね。今までプライドを持ってやってきた老舗が☆一つもつけらない場合、どうやって受け止められるかしら。でも、ある意味でいい刺激になると思うし、名前だけで品質が落ちてきているところもいっぱいあるし、このきっかけまたやる気が湧いてくるではないかと思います。
美味しいものがたくさんの食い倒れの大阪版も是非作って欲しいですね〜♪
Michelin Guide is gonna publish a Tokyo guide in Novemeber this year.
If you don't know what it is, it's a guide book that first came out as a free travel guide book in Europe by Michelin. But it slowly became a very important guide in France. The grading it gives could cost someone's life. I've heard a chef killed himself after his restaurant got down graded from a 3 star to 2 star bistro.
The New York version came out in 2005 and it brought upon some conflicts with certain existing guide books in the States.
I wonder what's gonna happen when the Tokyo version comes out. But overall I think it would be good stimulations. Some famous restaurants only carry their names with quality going downhill. I think it would give them some new motivations to maintain their quality.

By the way, the alert sound before train departs or closes its doors are usually some boring sounds, but in Japan they are usually music.
I don't know if it's real but I've once heard the reason why they started to use music is some foreigners jumped off the train when they used the old scary alarm sound as the alert. So in order to avoid this problem they started to use some softer music (Doesn't sound very realistic to me but this is what I heard).
Anyway, get a feel of a train ride in Tokyo. (^^)b

なんか面白いのがありますね。
そういうところは観光客にとって印象的だと思います。だって、日本でしか経験できないものの一つですもの。それに、バス乗ったとき、各駅の名前とか放送されることもそうですね。最近香港でも駅名を表示されるようになったが、さすがに放送まではやりませんね。。。
